Teesside Hospice are changing lives across Teesside by supporting people and families who’ve been affected by a terminal illness.
Teesside Hospice support around 3,000 people in Tees Valley, primarily in Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland.
Teesside Hospice help them make the most of every day, ensuring they receive the best possible care by creating experiences and memories that last a lifetime.
Role Description
The Midnight Walk is back for 2025!
After raising an amazing £80,000 in 2024 with over 700 walkers, Teesside Hospice are ready to make this year’s walk even more impactful.
Teesside Hospice are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to help make this a night to remember for their participants as they walk the 11km route between Redcar and Marske in the middle of the night.
Age Requirements: from 18 years old.
Purpose of the Role
Depending on which of these roles you are allocated your responsibilities may include:
- Registration Team
- Greet participants, check them in, and hand out welcome packs, t-shirts & torches.
- Your friendly face will set the tone for a memorable night.
- Route Marshals
- Paired up with another volunteer you will ensure participants stay safe and on track by directing them along the route.
- You’ll be a vital point of contact, offering encouragement and assistance as needed.
- Cheer Squad
- Based in their Registration Area you will boost morale at their glitter station, wave off their participants when they leave and welcome them back as they return.
- Your energy and enthusiasm will keep spirits high.
- Pack-up Crew
- Once the event concludes, help to take down decorations, pack-up equipment, and leave the venue spotless.
