Role Description
Teesside Hospice are looking for an exceptional candidate to join their Reception team as a Volunteer Receptionist/Administrator.
Volunteer as part of their multidisciplinary team to support effective clinical care by providing efficient clerical, administrative and receptionist services on the In-Patient Unit.
Age Requirements: from 18 years old plus.
Purpose of the Role
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Welcome patients, relatives and visitors into the hospice directing them to unit bedrooms ensuring that security, health and safety and infection control measures are understood and adhered to as applicable.
- Answer telephone calls taking/relaying messages for the nursing team and patients.
- Provide information concerning the condition of patients to relatives as directed by nursing staff.
- Ensure reception areas are maintained in a presentable manner (cleaning of PC’s and telephones).
- Liaising with admin team regarding any other duties.
- Support the Clinical Admin team as needed.
- Photocopying of documents/leaflets.
- Filing of patient documents.
- Distributing staff and patient mail.
- Monitors stationery levels and top up as needed.
- Reports faults to maintenance team.
- To have a working knowledge of all the equipment used in the area. e.g. Photocopier, IT equipment, Laminator and Telephone system or be willing to learn.
