Zarach are coming to Tees Valley!
They have an exciting opportunity to join the Zarach team to help in their mission to end child bed poverty in England. They estimate that there are 22,300 children in bed poverty in Tees Valley, which will be affecting children’s ability to engage in their education.
Role Description
Zarach are looking for a part time (0.6FTE) Family Engagement Manager to launch and lead their Family Engagement activity in the Tees Valley region.
You will initially assist in recruiting a team of volunteers to deliver the agreed National Family Engagement model. The Family Engagement team is the first point of contact for the families that are referred. This role involves coordinating these visits and initially being part of the home visit process.
The first element is to review bed requirements and follow up wellbeing visits to help signpost to services and ensure engagement in education.
This role also consists of training you to be the link Safeguarding Lead.
Purpose of the Role
Zarach are expecting a rapid increase in the number of families they can help over the next four years. They aim to launch in the Tees Valley at 22 beds a week moving towards a target of 250 a week in the coming years. As this activity increases, the role will also be involved in recruiting and then managing a team of two Family Engagement Officers who will in turn coordinate the team of volunteers.
Zarach are looking for someone who can evidence that they have past experience of working with vulnerable families and have previously signposted families for intervention. They need someone who is proactive and organised, a good communicator with high levels of empathy and always puts families and their mission first.
