Redcar & Cleveland – COVID-19 Business Support
Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant
Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant is for businesses whose main service or activity (generating at least 50% of the business’ income) is in the leisure, hospitality or accommodation sectors and is provided in-person, at premises where they are the ratepayer.
Applications for the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant are open now, however, we are still waiting for the Government to finalise the definitions for each sector – we may need you to submit further information about your business and how it meets the final definition.
All eligible businesses will need to fill in an application form to receive a grant, even if you have received grants from us previously. You will need to provide details about your business including your Business Rates number and a copy of a recent bank statement which clearly shows the relevant bank, account holder, sort code and account number.
We are waiting for the Government to confirm the closing date for this grant. Please gather all the information requested, and then complete the form as soon as possible. Your application will be delayed or rejected if all the required information is not provided.
Eligibility
Grants will be available to businesses:
- That are based in the Redcar and Cleveland area
- Are rated and assessed for non-domestic rates (business rates) purposes
- Were operational on 30 December 2021
- Whose main service or activity (generating at least 50% of the business’ income) is in the leisure, hospitality or accommodation sectors and is provided in-person, at premises where they are the ratepayer.
Additional Restrictions Grant (early 2022)
The Government have announced a third top up amount to local authorities for the Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG), to support businesses severely impacted by the rise of the Omicron variant, whereby grants will be issued at the discretion of the local authority and will be based on local economic need.
While updated guidance has been received for this grant scheme, there is not yet an indication as to how much funding will be made available to the council to administer this scheme.
A policy document setting out the full eligibility criteria will appear on our Additional Restrictions Grant page following the confirmation of funding allocations.
A link to an online application form will appear here when available. GOV.UK have information on further financial support for businesses during coronavirus (COVID-19).
