South Tees Changing Futures Programme:
Update Session Monday 13th September 10.30am-12.30pm
A South Tees partnership, led by Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland Councils, has secured £3.11m of Changing Futures funding. This will enable additional capacity to support local people until 31st March 2024. The partnership consists of a variety of public sector, VCS and other organisations focused on working with residents and communities to improve lives.
The Changing Futures programme is a £64 million joint initiative by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) and The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK. The fund is for local organisations to work in partnership to better support those who experience multiple disadvantage, including homelessness, substance misuse, mental health issues, domestic abuse, and contact with the criminal justice system.
Our South Tees approach will focus on improving the system-wide response to supporting local people who are affected by multiple issues. We aim to have a co-ordinated team around the individual/family and increase the number of people with lived experience being involved in the planning and delivery of support. Changing Futures will provide us with an opportunity to employ test and learn approach, which will then lead to sustained improvements in practice.
