Cleveland Youth Commission on Police and Crime 2021 – Role to apply
Exciting opportunity (for 14-25yrs) to join the Cleveland Youth Commission on Policing and Crime.
Cleveland Youth Commission allows young people to support, challenge and inform the work of the Police & Crime Commissioner and Cleveland Police force. The Youth Commission will explore urgent issues affecting young people in Cleveland, such as Reducing Offending and Re-offending, Relationship with the Police, Mental Health, Hate Crime and Abusive relationships.
The Cleveland Youth Commission is aimed at young people aged 14-25 years who want to make a difference to their community.
- We’re looking for a diverse group of young people from different backgrounds and life experiences to take part, including those who have direct experience of the criminal justice system.
This is brilliant opportunity for young people to gain knowledge, new skills and experiences. Members of the Youth Commission will play an important role in helping to run ‘big conversation’ events to gather the views and opinions of other young people about police and crime.

Support our 16-24 year olds on Universal Credit back in to work and provide them with the life and work experience they need to take that first step in to their career journey. This is your opportunity to recruit fresh new talent and ideas in to your business and grow your future workforce, fully subsidised for 6 months.
Employers of all sizes can apply for funding which covers:
- 100% of the National Minimum Wage (or National Living Wage depending on the age of the participant) for 25 hours per week for a total of 6 months.
- Associated employer National Insurance contributions.
- Employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions.
Kickstart is a wonderful opportunity for your business, big or small. It’s a real chance to think a little differently and could even support your future growth plans.
Further funding is available for training and development needs, to support the young person in to sustainable employment.
You no longer need a minimum of 30 job placements to apply directly for a grant.
You can now apply for a Kickstart scheme grant by either:

- Getting help from a Kickstart gateway who is already working with the Kickstart scheme.

There are some important things to consider as a business before you consider applying:
- You must create new jobs. They can’t replace existing or planned vacancies or cause existing employees or contractors to reduce their employment.
- The roles must be for a minimum 25 hours a week for a 6 month period, paid at NMW for their age group.
- Extensive training should not be needed before they begin, these should be entry level roles and you’ll grow individuals on the job and with support.
- Throughout the 6-month period. You must be able to demonstrate what you will do to help and support each young person become more employable known as the ‘wrap around support’.
What you need to provide as part of the process:
- Your Companies House reference number, Charity Commission number or Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator number, if you have one.
- Your organisation address and contact details.
- Details of the job placements and their location.

Are you community focused? We have three positions available to join a new project set to be delivered across County Durham. The aim is to support those deeply impacted by Covid-19, including those who have suffered from Covid-19 and those who have been bereaved.
You will be responsible for delivering support and guidance through services and projects, whilst exploring outreach work to maximize impact of those in need. Confidence to work with people across all levels in a sympathetic manner is crucial to this role. You must have a solution focused attitude and have a proactive and well researched approach to signposting clients to services and support relevant to them.
Proven experience of working with people and impacted communities is key, with a natural awareness of Covid-19 and its affects on mental health and wellbeing. You will be able to work under pressure and maintain the delivery of support and services to clients, with an understanding knowledge of how to process sensitive information and data.

MECC Vaccine Conversations Training
Building on the foundations of the ‘Good Conversations’ workshops run in Y&H, we have commissioned a new Vaccines Conversations workshop aimed at people who are in regular contact with members of the public, this initial offer of 20 workshop (circa 600 places across NE & Y&H) is aimed at trusted community champions who are already embedded in our communities. Subject to demand we hope to extend this offer to local authority Covid hub/trace teams and health and social care staff.
Concept and Objectives
The rollout of the Covid19 vaccination programme has been rightly lauded a huge success however inequalities amongst some eligible populations can present a risk to population health and more often negatively impact our some of our poorest communities and/or risk groups. Our conversations our powerful therefore the provision of skills training than uses the principles of Making Every Contact Count (MECC) and Motivation Interviewing (MI) is an important skill that can be utilised to combat disinformation and myths and whilst providing the necessary reassurance and confidence in what is a safe and effective vaccine.
The skills training covers:
- How can we work together to build vaccine confidence, what we know and how this links to health inequality
- Core skills and processes (OARS, Evoke-Provide-Evoke, Decisional Balance, and the 3As)
- Skills practice – Building confidence in the vaccine
- Resources that staff can use to respond to questions and concerns
The session will be interactive and include modelled conversations that showcase the core skills and processes being used. The application of this work can be far-reaching. Although this is focused on the Covid vaccination programme, these skills can be utilised for childhood immunisations, flu vaccine, cancer screening and other health-promoting activities
This provision has been funded by NHSEI as part of the North East and Yorkshire Region Covid-19 support programme and will be delivered in partnership with PHE Y&H & NE and Regional MECC Networks for Y&H & NE. Each workshop can caterer for 30 people and lasts for 2 hours, dates available from the 15 June to 08th July

Business Support/ HR Administrator
The Link Charitable Trust (LCT) is a Redcar based charity working with children, young
people, families and vulnerable adults. We support individuals to make positive changes to their lives through a range of emotional, social and wellbeing activities and services within the community. We offer open access to support, advice and guidance, for as long as it is felt to be needed.
We are currently recruiting 1 x part time Business Support/ HR Administrator post to start
with our organisation. Agenda for Change (AfC) Band 5 point 16 – 23 plus 38 days annual
leave per year, inclusive of bank holidays (Pro rata). Working hours and patterns are negotiable.
The role of Business Support /HR Administrator is to work within The Link Charitable Trust
providing ongoing support to the Chief Executive Officer, Project managers and the Board of Trustees. This will include processing payroll, maintaining finance systems and updating company cash flow and financial forecasts. This role will also involve maintaining and developing the company’s current HR functions and coordinating all HR activity.
The successful candidate will be required to be extremely well organised and thorough with exceptional attention to detail. They must show a willingness and ability to meet deadlines which may require out of office working from time to time.
