WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT OFFER
Programme Quality Assessment Basics –
Youth Programme Quality Intervention (YPQI)
PQA BASICS
The Centre for Youth Impact together with the North East Youth Alliance (NEYA) is looking for a new cohort of organisations to take part in the next round of Programme Quality Assessment (PQA) Basics training, as part of the Youth Programme Quality Intervention (YPQI) for the North East. This training will enable you to use and share the PQA within your organisation, and is the only research validated quality improvement tool of its kind in the UK. After attending this training, you will enter into a growing community of youth organisations committed to quality improvement in the UK, and benefit from support and training from the Centre for Youth Impact, the North East Youth Alliance, as well as the Weikart Center.
The YPQI framework and tools can support you to continue to develop quality provision for young people. By adapting the programme, we want to explore opportunities for using the model in areas such as session planning and evaluation, in supervising and supporting staff, and in self-assessment and reflective practice for your team. This will help to build understanding of the principles of effective social and emotional learning (SEL) practices and create a framework for quality practice.
This 4-part training will be running on the following dates:
29 April Introduction to the Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) PQA workshop
13 May Preparing for observation and assessment workshop
27 May Team-based scoring meeting workshop
10 June Scores reporter webinar (1 hour)
Please note the 9 April deadline for sign-up. Participants are expected to attend all dates. All sessions start at 1.30pm and the workshops run for three hours with a short break.
For more information and registration go to the Eventbrite page.
This PQA Basics training is open to two members of your team – the person who will lead the YPQI within your organisation, and a practitioner. There will be space for 7 organisations and it will be first come first served. You can find out more information about the programme here (https://www.youthimpact.uk/ypqi-uk), alternatively you can email Centre for Youth Impact [email protected] or Laura Bush at NEYA [email protected]
