The Grenfell Club is for children, young people and adults with physical and learning disabilities. In a purpose built community centre we provide leisure and educational activities in an inclusive and fun way. Open six days a week we provide a variety of services, to promote independence and confidence in our members’
We are currently seeking new appointments to our Board of Directors to help shape and direct the organisation as we continue to develop and build on our current strengths to make significant and long lasting improvements to the lives of people with physical and learning disabilities. We welcome applications from individuals with a commitment to the values of social justice and community development. In particular we seek applicants with skills in business development and HR management, finance and social enterprise.

Our Trustees meet quarterly and meetings can last from one to two hours.

In November 2012, the Cleveland Force Area elected its first Police and Crime Commissioner, who is responsible for setting the priorities and resources for Cleveland Police, as well as supporting broader community safety activities. At the same time, a Police and Crime Panel was established to scrutinise the work of the Commissioner, providing independent challenge, as a critical friend.
The Commissioner is required to consult with the Panel on his plans and budget for policing, as well as the level of council tax precept and the appointment of a Chief Constable.
The Panel is made up of representatives from each of the four local authorities in the force area. Those representatives must appoint two Non-Political Independent Members (NPIMs), to also serve with them, on the Panel.
Recently, one of the existing NPIMs stood down, due to increases in other commitments. The Panel is, therefore, looking to fill this vacancy with a motivated individual who either lives or works within the Cleveland Force Area, to serve from November 2018 to 1st February 2021
The role of a Panel member will be an important and demanding one. The typical commitment required from a member of the Panel will be to attend an average of 4 meetings per year, with the possible additional commitment of attending Task and Finish Groups. Meetings last approximately 2 to 3 hours and the Panel member will be expected to prepare for meetings.
Meetings will generally be held at 5pm at the new Community Safely Hub, Cliffland Way, Hemlington, Middlesbrough. All Panel members are able to claim reasonable travelling and subsistence expenses and will receive induction and other appropriate training.

Footprints in the Community – Information & Networking Event
We would like to invite you to a networking event being hosted by Footprints in the Community on Thursday 28 November, from 2pm-5pm, at The Wilton Centre, Lazenby, Redcar, TS10 4RF.
The afternoon will be a great opportunity for you to find out about the work of Footprints in the Community, to explore opportunities for us to work together for the benefit of Redcar and its surrounding area. There will also be some short, organised networking sessions around your allocated tables, so please bring plenty of business cards and any other information or leaflets to share about your organisation. We would be grateful if you could arrive for 1.45pm, as we will be starting at 2pm prompt.
Our previous networking events have received very positive feedback, so please reserve your place early, by replying to admin@footprintsinthecommunity.co.uk (RSVP by 14 November at the latest).
