R&C BC Community Empowerment Workshop

Thursday 15th September, 9.00 am – 4.00 pm, Tunedin!, Majuba Road, Redcar.

A workshop with a difference, when the third sector of Redcar and Cleveland and beyond are invited to a key workshop to work with partners with a like mind to develop a solution for a themed priority:

This exciting workshop will be a collaboration of the third sector and the local authority. Inspiring the way forward for new innovative ideas.

This is about solving our issues on your doorstep together. Eight themed tables will be the workspaces for this workshop you will be able to pre-book the table you would like to join by simply booking the ticket for the theme.

Pick your Themed Table:

  1. Service for 0-25 year olds > which will look at bringing together all early years services across the Borough
  2. Care and health integration > which will explore further working with our care and health partners to deliver reduced costs by providing a more joined-up service
  3. Community based public health > which will see less services directed at individuals and more support to communities
  4. Waste and recycling > which will explore how the Council can turn waste into a resource and generate income from it
  5. Street Scene > which will look at improving joint working with partners to reduce costs as well asking in house teams to tackle a broader range of tasks
  6. Customer engagement > which will look at community hubs as a ‘one stop shops’ for a range of services to make better use of our buildings and asking people to do more business with the Council online
  7. Fleet and vehicle procurement > which will look at how many vehicles we need and explore how we can work more closely with partners when using and buying vehicles
  8. Sustainable growth > strategy which will look at opportunities to grow the local economy as well as attract more visitors through tourism

The key to the success of this workshop will be the opportunity for making this an open workshop to collect great ideas.
