Environmental Grant
Greggs Foundation aims to make a difference to people in need at the heart of their local communities. It has a number of programmes that aim to address the needs of disadvantaged local communities.
The environmental grants programme aims to improve people’s lives by improving the environment. The programme is administered by seven charity committees throughout England, Scotland and Wales. Organisations may only apply once per calendar year for this grant.
Any not for profit organisation can apply for a grant of up to £2000, preference will be given to small, locally based and community led organisations with a turnover not in excess of £300,000 per annum. Schools are also encouraged to apply and are given the same level of priority as small locally based organisations.
We are interested in projects that improve the physical environment in a way that will improve people’s lives. This can include purchase of equipment, sessional salary costs, purchase of trees/plants, small capital projects and learning activities.
We are also interested in new approaches and innovative ideas as well as sustainable approaches to supporting your local environment.
The following examples are to be used as a guide only as the programme is open to a wide range of community led applications.
- A group of volunteers who completed litter picking exercises in their local parks or along a local riverbank
- An allotment project for people suffering early stages of dementia
