National Citizen Service 2015

NCS is a government backed programme for 16/17 year olds which encourages them to challenge themselves, give something back as well as learn the skills that they don’t get to in class. The young people take part in various activities, including an outward bound residential, independent living skills, and learning about their local community before giving something back through a Social Action Project.

Safe in Tees Valley will be working with 840 young people across the Tees Valley this Summer and would like as many services, businesses and charities to be involved as possible.

Each team of young people has a timetable of activities during their Community week – where they visit local organisations to find out about what they do, how they work in the area, and any project opportunities that they might have for our young people to get involved with.

If you would like more information, or feel that your organisation might be able to accommodate some of our young people this Summer, please do not hesitate to contact Clare Scott, NCS Programme Lead on 01642 664440 or at clare.scott@safeinteesvalley.org
