Women’s Empowerment Fund
The Department for Communities and Local Government has launched a £250,000 fund to support projects that empower women today. This is an exciting and new opportunity for charities and voluntary groups to bid for between £2,000 – £20,000 to support work that will empower women and give them the skills and confidence to take a full role in their communities and in particular to challenge the circumstances where abuse including child sexual exploitation can occur,
The Department for Communities and Local Government expects to allocate funds to between 10-20 different voluntary and community groups across the country. Funding is available for one year only.

Building Better Communities
Entry deadline 12th April 2015
Jewson are giving away £100,000 to help build better communities. Funding of between £1,000 and £50,000 is available to community projects that will make a real difference to the lives of local people, now and in the future. There are three steps to the process:
- Nominate a project
Tell them about your project. It may be a new roof for your village hall, a sensory garden for local school children or the renovation of a long-forgotten community building. - Show what people power looks like
Once the nominations are in, a shortlist will be announced. If your project is lucky enough to make the list, you’ll need to call on your community to get behind it and vote, vote, vote. - See if you’re a winner
The panel will judge each entry and pick regional winners to receive support of £1,000 and £5,000. One lucky project will also walk away with the main £50,000 prize.
