Redcar & Cleveland Safeguarding Children Board’s Safeguarding Conference

Redcar and Cleveland’s Safeguarding Children Board (RCSCB) are hosting their first Safeguarding Conference.

• This conference will provide an opportunity to meet the “Board” and hear about and discuss safeguarding related issues at national, regional and local levels.
• The Junior Safeguarding Board “Safe4U” will discuss their findings from what our children in our schools are telling us in relation to Child Exploitation issues
• Wendy Shepherd from Barnardo’s will provide an overview of the issues in relation to Vulnerable Exploited Missing and Trafficked (VEMT) from a national, regional and local perspective
• Delegates will have an opportunity to see the nationally recognised drama performance from the Alter Ego project, “Chelsea’s Choice”
• The Learning Points from Redcar and Cleveland Serious Case Review will be disseminated for consideration regarding how you need to respond

The conference will include lunch and an opportunity to network to discuss the issues raised.
