Kidz Konnekt

Kidz Konnekt for those of you who don’t already know is a local charity set up in 2004 to offer generic and targeted youth provision for young people 8-19yrs residing in Greater Eston. This work has gone from strength to strength over the last 10 years and with continued funding from the Big Lottery and the People’s Health Trust and a few other funders we are now able to provide a wide range of services across Redcar and Cleveland.

Kidz Konnekt staff are highly trained and experienced in delivering Alternative Education, IAG, Career’s advice, small group work and accreditation to students and coupled with the other skills we have also picked up along the way we are hoping to work alongside the local schools in this area. We have experience working alongside schools/academy’s engaging with the hardest to reach students through to the high achievers with great success.

I have provided a list below of the services/activities Kidz Konnekt believe will support you in developing the potential and education of your Students;

Services we can offer

• 1-1 interventions and support
• Group Work
• IAG (general and EET)
• After School projects
• After School Club (home work)
• Home Visits
• On Site and Off Site activities
• Health Workshops (drugs, alcohol, sexual)
• Anger Management
• Fitness Through Fun project
• Xchangers project (arts, music, sports volunteering program)
• School holiday programmes/activities for Students who positively participate during school activities.

From February half term we can also offer;

• Full Day – Team Building
• Full Day – Scrambling/Weaselling
• Full Day – Survival Skills Expedition
• Full Day – Indoor Rock Climbing
• 2 hrs – Archery
• Half Day – Camp Craft
• 3 days – National Navigation Award
• 2 days 1 night – Overnight Camp

6 week accredited course inclusive of 6 Adventure and Study days with soft and hard outcomes for both the school and the student for 8 students accreditations available through;

• NCFE
• ASDAN
• NNA

Basic Expedition Leaders Level 2

The course is designed to support the young person’s education through experiential learning improving confidence, the ability to work with others, key skills, improving attainment and attendance through a positive learning experience.

All the activities have themes i.e. Team Work, Communication, Problem Solving and Leadership these skills help with building confidence and raising aspirations.

If your school feels this is not for them I would appreciate the opportunity to take part in a school assembly to raise awareness of our services to your students and look at the possibility of hiring spaces for KK to utilise for delivering services to the young people and their community.
